The shape will be familiar to anyone who knows the Barbour Bedale. The short hunting-jacket cut, raglan sleeves, storm-flap front and generous bellows pockets all come from the same practical British outerwear tradition. Here, that familiar pattern is recast in heavyweight 11-wale cotton corduroy.
Changing the cloth gives the jacket a different character. The corduroy is substantial but remarkably soft, with a full cotton plaid lining that makes it comfortable from the first wear. It trades the weather protection of waxed cotton for softness, texture and a more relaxed everyday feel.
It is worth being clear about that trade-off. This is not a weather-resistant equivalent to a waxed Bedale and will not offer anything close to the same resistance to rain or wind. Think of it as a soft corduroy hunting jacket for cool, dry days, with the practical pockets and easy layering shape that made the original design so enduring.
Fit
The relaxed body and raglan sleeves leave useful room through the shoulders and chest. It sits comfortably over a shirt and has enough space for light knitwear when the weather cools.

Sizing
Website sizes have been standardised for a clearer fit comparison: XXS (US) corresponds to garment label S, XS (US) to M, S (US) to L, M (US) to XL, L (US) to XXL and XL (US) to XXXL. The size guide shows both labels. Compare the chest, length and raglan measurements with a jacket you already wear, allowing enough room for the way you plan to layer it.
These are measurements of the garment. Allow 1-3 cm for manual measurement and production variation.
The website sizes have been standardised to US labels. The original label sewn into the garment will differ from the website size. For example, S (US) corresponds to an L-labelled garment. This is expected and does not mean the wrong size was sent.
For the most reliable fit, measure a lined jacket whose proportions you already like and compare its measurements with the size guide below.
