Watch my Maden Canvas Chore Coat review
I’ve put together a video review of the Maden Canvas Chore Coat to give you a closer look at how it fits and how it is made.
I want to show you what I like about it, as well as the things that might make it the wrong choice for you.
Watch the review
In just under ten minutes, I go through the fabric, pockets, stitching and fit. You can see the coat on me and get a closer look at the details.

What I cover
The coat has a sturdy cotton canvas body in golden tan, with a soft brown corduroy collar. Corduroy is the fabric with raised ridges you can see around the neck.
I look inside the coat too. Some seams have the fabric edges folded away before they are sewn together. I show what that looks like, along with the reinforced pocket corners and adjustable cuffs.
Then I cover three things to think about:
- Body length: it has a shorter, boxy fit on me. It may not suit you if you want a longer coat.
- Warmth: it has no lining. In colder weather, you will need warm layers underneath.
- Branding: there is a small visible Maden patch. That may matter if you prefer clothes without labels on the outside.
A note on sizing
I’m 173 cm tall and weigh 73 kg. In the video, I’m wearing Small (US) in the Hidden Stitch Supply size system. The label inside that coat says L.
Before choosing a size, compare the coat’s measurements with a jacket you already own and like wearing.

If you have a question about the coat, leave a comment on the video. I’d also like to hear whether you prefer a shorter chore coat or a longer fit.
